A lot of things has been on my mind lately.
I’m going to give you an unsolicited advice. (It might be solicited because you clicked on this post with your own fingers and will :P)
Sometimes when I see someone working super hard in their job (a job that is mentally exhausting and takes up most of their time or sometimes it can be physically draining too) I feel do they even get some time to breathe?
I do get it though, cause we have to this to survive. People might also say they love their job and they don’t mind hustling all the time.
But as I always say, we hustle to live life not live a life to hustle.
What I would suggest when life gets too carried away with work all the time is to set aside a few hours or maybe just a hour in a day for “me time” and to find your spark.
I would suggest finding something that makes you feel alive and to do that. It could be anything like reading, knitting, painting, gardening, volunteering or even trying different places to eat.
It could be something as mundane as maybe going to the temple/church on your day off and eating at a different restaurant each time.
It could be anything. Anything that sparks your interest.
I feel most times when work gets too hard we don’t really do anything other than work, sleep and netflix, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But what I feel is, since we only get one life and we don’t even know when it will end, do you just wanna work, sleep and netflix?
Or do you wanna go to the park and get some sunlight and icecream too?
I feel most times we forget to live life because of our never ending problems, I have done that too in the past and now I’m in a place where I feel I want to do more and live more as much as I’m capable of.
Find your spark, do things that make you feel alive and dream, dream some more and a lot more, while you are working in your 9-5 to survive.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in retiring in your 9-5 as an associate but I feel, a life is wasted if you let your job engulf you and forget to find, see and enjoy the joys around you.
