A lot of things go unnoticed and is not given much importance to, but I think otherwise.
When I look at the people working as waiters, bus drivers and conductors, cab and auto drivers and so on, you know the people who are bound to wear an uniform for work, I feel they are not given much perks for the work that they do.
If you think about it their work is so much more tiring than what we as IT employees do and we receive so many perks and benefits in our company. Our work is just mentally taxing but theirs is physically taxing too, so why is it that they are not given perks?
I personally feel that the employer should make their work as comfortable from their end as possible.
For example, give them an uniform that is comfortable to wear, like a light cotton material one. Give them credit coupons to buy comfortable shoes and during winter, give them pullovers and jackets. These are a few things I noticed, there might be more.
When they are sick, give them the liberty to take sick leaves and not expect them to work.
Give them enough breaks and time to breathe.
Give them a space to express their needs as an employee and listen to their needs.
Because they are putting in so much more effort and hard work than someone who sits in front of the laptop to work.
Please give take care of your employees and make them feel comfortable and give them as much perks as you can.
