Maybe kids of today’s generation might not understand this.
One thing about me is, I’ve always loved music immensely.
Growing up when I was living in the cupboard under the stairs, we didn’t have internet but I had a computer and I would load music on it through a borrowed pen drive. That’s when my love for music and Taylor Swift started.
I would listen to music on repeat back then too (lol). After we got internet connection, there was always a limitation on the music I used to download because we were always worried about the bill.
When my sister finally bought a phone, again there was a limitation on the music I would listen to because it wasn’t my phone and there was only a certain time I was allowed to use the phone.
Even when I bought my first phone, I couldn’t listen to music till my heart’s content because I didn’t have internet on that phone.
By the time I bought a phone with internet it took years and I would ask my friends to send me songs on Whats App because I didn’t have a music app and we had to pay for the internet like crazy amount.
Years passed this way.
Then when I finally discovered the music app, I had to share the app and the interface wasn’t that cool and flexible. Also, we didn’t have WiFi connection at home, so again there was a certain limitation.
Finally, it’s when I joined Ministry in 2019 that we got WiFi at home and I could stream music endlessly.
I can tell you one thing, my joy was unmatched.
It’s in 2022 that I discovered Spotify.
I didn’t really know about it before that. I didn’t know a lot of things before that, I learned most of the things I know now these past few years, if I have to be completely honest.
It is like one of the best thing that’s happened to me. I absolutely love Spotify so much.
The seamless and endless music collection just a tap away. The premium membership is so important and essential to me that I cannot live without it.
After my long journey I’ve finally reached home. (okay, I think I’m being too dramatic here, but yeah, I love music so much, I cannot tell you)
Maybe that might explain why I keep staring at Spotify most of the time and browsing music.
I just love my apps. I know I sound like a grandmother who just discovered the internet. But that’s not completely false too, you know? : P
