All youtubers/booktubers that I watch,
shit talk about the books that they dislike, all the time openly.
They give really low ratings, DNF and even unhaul them on camera.
…
But when I do the same, it’s not acceptable.
When I speak about something that I dislike for valid reasons,
the world glorifies it.
When I return a book because I didn’t like the print of the book because it was pirated,
the world hypes up that book and now suddenly the author is their favourite.
When I speak about a book triggering me,
my favorite youtuber continuously taunt me.
If I mention I don’t like a book for valid reasons,
my favorite author writes a book to taunt me savagely.
…
This is called hypocrisy.
No matter how I say it or how delicately I address it or how many ways I say it.
It’s of no use.
…
This kinda behaviour sucks away the fun of speaking about books and also reading books.
…
Reading is a personal experience.
Something that I like, others might not.
Something that I dislike, others might.
Everyone has different experiences reading the same book.
…
Reading something because you like it,
makes sense.
But reading something so that you can throw it on my face because I expressed a personal opinion or based on assumptions,
is childish and immature.
…
The way the world scrutinizes me is not only hypocritical but extremely dysfunctional.
Since the whole world is watching my videos, this is what I’m going through.
Hence I don’t feel compelled to continue with my reviews anymore.
It’s no longer fun.
This is one of the reasons I’m stopping.
