Note.

My therapist can be my best friend.

But to my therapist I’m not her best friend.

Because there’s a boundary that comes with it.

We do feel a sense of connection with our therapist when we continually speak to them about our personal life and problems and everything else there is.

And there’s a rapport going.

But we should always maintain a boundary.

We cannot text them or call them on the phone whenever we want outside the sessions.

We cannot hang out with them or follow each other on socials.

We cannot take up more than one or two sessions in a week.

There’s a lot of other factors that are in play.

But yeah.

Our therapist can be our best friend with a boundary.

But we should be mindful that it’s one sided and professional.
