What I do when someone doesn’t reply to my text.

(fanfic from Harry’s POV)

It took me 32 years to get here, I’m going to tell you in a single blog post.

First of all, I would like to clarify this to you, no one, absolutely no one in this world is busy all the time. Let me break this down to you, every person in this world have their fucking phone near them or in their hand the entire time or they come back to their phone after whatever they were busy with.

Let me give you an example, I’ve had men in the past who had back to back meetings the whole day but still would text me the entire time. This was back in the day when I was dating.

Coming back to the topic in the title. I have zero ego, so I’m the kinda person who always reach out to friends time and time again. But there have been instances where when I do that, they don’t reply or pick up my call. I give them the benefit of the doubt and let them be the first time. Because yes, every one has something going on and well, they can be dealing with something.

So after an interval, I check in on them again and also third time, if they were close. If there is no reply for the text and call, well I just delete their number.

Hear me out, a, there is no value added with keeping their number. B, if in case I’m in an emergency or danger if I call them, will they pick up? the answer is no. C, I hate the “had dinner, had lunch” topics and I don’t really do that, if I’m reaching out to someone it’s just to talk about something. D, I’m not blocking them, so if in case they suddenly start caring or come out of the issues they were dealing with and want to be in my life, they can reach out and do better. But I’m not going to reach out.

I know this is such a first world problem. But sometimes in my head I feel things are going good and I consider them as a good friend, but unfortunately it is not reciprocated. Also, as I mentioned no one is that busy. So I just remove myself from their life silently.

I don’t really care if I have just like 20 contacts saved on my phone. But at least they reciprocate my energy.
